Snow days/holidays...

I know that some of you are working on your projects at home during snow days and breaks.  Keep up the good work.  We will hit the ground running when we return from Christmas Break!!  Remember to blog when you can...I know there are issues there as well, which we'll work on when we get back.  **Anyone else reading this from Globaloria...we're having trouble accessing accounts...any hints??**

Buttons

Some of us are having button issues.  If you have any hints or action script codes you can share, please post them under this post!!  Look especially for back button coding!!!

Connection Issues...

OK guys...I know that all of us have been working around connection problems, including me.  For those of you who have been working at home...thanks!  All of us need to blog at least once a week, even if you aren't answering the questions at the end of a session.  Update us on your demo...tell us what cool coding you've found...show us pics and give us links...that is the way we will learn from each other!!!  Keep up the good work, fill out your learning log and continue to work on your demos!!!

This weeks assignments...

1.  Finish your video blog and post it.  As we finish, I am loading them to viddler.  Find the embed code, click edit html and then insert the code so your video shows up. Jordan and Franks vlog is embedded below to show you what you need!!
2.  Add your paper prototyping video to the wiki (this is NOT your blog)...you will also need the embed code for this from viddler.
3.  Draw your title screen, save it as a fla and swf file and add it to your project page under "Design a Scene".
4.  Make sure you add your blog about the drawing a scene.

Paper Prototyping finished up!!!

OK!  We spent all last week working on prototypes and filming.  This week, you will be putting your videos on viddler so that you can upload them to you wiki and blog!  You did a great job and I know we're all excited to move on to flash.  I am working on software for the Mobi so we can draw on it and then import it to flash.  Wish me luck!!!

Paper Prototyping

We are working this week on paper prototyping...where you draw on paper what you later want to put in your game.  Make sure you read all the directions and watch the video's on your wiki.  Remember, we will be videoing you reviewing your prototype, as well a making a video blog at the end of the week!

Planning Your Game...

You all are coming up with good ideas for your games.  Make sure you think about the educational aspect, not just the fun!  You want it to "be everything".  Fun, attractive, educational....

Here is our Volleyball team!  I am practicing with our flip camera.  Your presentations are now available on viddler so that they can go on your team page.  Great job!  We've noted some areas of needed improvement (text on background, size and style of text, etc)  Remember what you read about in the IYG section and continue to improve your skills!!!

Imagining Your Game...

Include a picture of your IYG on your blog for everyone to see.  You all have done an awesome job!

Check out Kaylee and Mikhelas... AND Cara and Chloe!!!  Ask me how to take a screen picture and copy it to paint so you can have a picture to include on your blog...

Make sure that you update your project page as well as your team wiki!!  Blog about your experience too!  Isn't it exciting to see your ideas start to take shape??

You are doing a fabulous job catching up or staying on track.  You should have blogs on the following topics:  introduction blog, internet safety, your game idea, your research topic, playing games, favorites and perspectives.  You should also comment on three other people's blogs!!  Check out Bryce's Blog to see what you can do with a little extra time!  Make sure that you finish a blog each time you complete a section so that we are all keeping up!!

You're Doing it!

Ok guys...we've made a lot of progress this week.  I want to encourage you to not be too hard on yourselves.  Remember, not all of the problems are yours.  We've had many technical issues, wiki problems, connection drops, etc.  Make sure you are keeping up with your learning logs, blogs and project page.  Check out Bryce and Ethan's blogs/wikis for ideas!!!  Here is Ethan's Wiki page!

It's FALL!!

Ok guys!  I know we are all getting overwhelmed!  I now understand why noone else wanted to "do" this class (wink, wink)!

We can do this.  We are going to back track and make sure that everything that is supposed to be filled in on our wiki project page is filled in and that you've blogged on what you need to.  I don't have time to check everyone's pages everyday, so you need to take responsibility for updating wikis, learning logs, and blogs!!  Ask Ethan, Bryce or me if you need help this week so that we can make sure you understand all the key points before we move on!

I love state parks! Roger and I love to take the kiddos and go visit for the day or even stay for a few days or week. One of our favorites is Watoga State Park in southern Pocahontas county.
